My Video Game Collection

For my own records, and for those curious, here is an itemized list of my personal, physical video game collection. This might be of interest for anyone online, or if I am ever away from the house and need to know if I have something.

I have a good deal more digital games than this, but this list only shows items I physically own.

All CD-based systems are Cart in Box (CiB) unless noted otherwise, and all cartridge-based systems (NES, SNES, Genesis, Game Boy/Color/Advance, etc.), are loose unless noted otherwise.

Table of Contents

NES

I have a physical NES unit as well as an NES Mini

SNES

I have an original SNES as well as a SNES Mini. I also have the Super Game Boy attachment to allow it to play GB games.

Nintendo 64

I have an original N64, and I've preordered the Analogue 3D, their FPGA version of the N64.

GameCube

My Gamecube has a Game Boy Player attachment which allows it to play GB/GBC/GBA games. In addition, I've made some hardware modifications to it. The first was replacing the original controller board with one that supports Bluetooth. Any standard Bluetooth controller can pair and be used with it (although some of the button bindings are odd). I also installed a Flippydrive modchip which allows it to boot games off an SD card, while leaving the disc drive intact.

Wii

I have an original Wii unit, which at some point I software modded to play games off an SD card.

Wii U

I have the original 4 GB Wii U model, and like my Wii, I software modded it to play additional software.

Switch

My Switch is the original model with the gray joycons. Someday I do plan on software modding it as well, but not until Nintendo officially ends support.

Switch 2

I have the basic Switch 2 model

Game Boy / Game Boy Color

I have two original Game Boy units. The first is a teal Game Boy Color which I had as a child. The second is a translucent green Game Boy Pocket with a backlit screen mod.

In addition to those, I have several devices which can play physical GB/GBC games. I have a Super Game Boy attachment for my SNES, a Game Boy Player attachment for my Gamecube, and an Analog Pocket — all which can play GB games (the Super Game Boy can't play GBC games, but the other two can).

Game Boy Advance

I have my original childhood GBA, but a few years ago I heavily hardware modded it to feature a better screen, translucent shell, USB-C charging, etc.

I also have a green Game Boy Micro, Game Boy Player for the Gamecube, and an Analogue Pocket; all capable of playing physical GBA titles

Nintendo DS

While I don't have my original childhood system, a few years ago I picked up the exact same model -- a blue original DS.

Nintendo 3DS

I have two 3DS units. The first is a black original 3DS system, and the second is a blue New 3DS XL. The New 3DS system is actually a Japanese "LL" device, but it has been software modded to be a NA device. The original 3DS is also jailbroken.

Sega Game Gear

I don't have a physical Game Gear unit. However, I do have the Game Gear attachment for the Analogue Pocket, which allows me to play real cartridges.

Sega Genesis

  • I have a model 2 Sega Genesis I picked up used at a yard sale as a teenager. I haven't performed any modifications to it, although I do have RGB output cables for it.
  • I also have both the Genesis Mini and Genesis Mini 2 classic console devices.
  • Sega CD

Since I have a model 2 Genesis, I have the accompanying model 2 Sega CD to pair with it (the top-loading one). These are the only manufactured games I have for the system, although I do have a number of burnt CD-Rs for it as well.

    Sega 32X

Rounding out my Genesis behemoth is a 32X unit.

    Sega Saturn

I have a Japanese gray Sega Saturn unit, but I don't have any games for it. I instead just have a Saroo flash cart to play games.

    Sega Dreamcast

I have a revision 1 US Dreamcast console. I haven't made any hardware modifications to it yet, although I have repaired a number of defects with it, such as replacing a damaged plastic gear with a brass one and allowing it to play burnt AUDIO/DATA CD-Rs.

    Sony PlayStation

In addition to an original PS1 unit, my PS2 units can both play PS1 games.

    Sony PlayStation 2

I have two PS2 models. The first was a PS2 slim model that I purchased while in college. The second is an Ocean Blue original model which I have softmodded with an internal HDD.

    Sony PlayStation 3

After years of PS3 being a gaping hole in my Sony collection, I finally picked up a PS3 Slim model.

    Sony PlayStation 4

I have a PS4 console, in addition to my PS5 being able to play PS4 discs.

    Sony PlayStation 5

I have a PS5 system, which I've replaced the white plates with Atomic Purple plates.

    Sony PSP

I have a silver PSP-3000 unit, which has been software modded to play games off its memory stick. I've also added a mini SD to Memory Stick adapter, allowing it to just use a standard mini SD card.

    Sony PS Vita

I have a blue slim Vita which has also been jailbroken and given a mini SD to Memory Stick adapter (a SD2VITA Pro).

    Wonderswan / Wonderswan Color

I have a pearl blue Wonderswan Color, which was a Game Boy competitor only released in Japan. Like my GBA, I've upgraded its screen to a backlit IPS panel, which allows for much better viewing.

    Xbox

I own a translucent green, Halo-edition original Xbox, but currently no actual games for it. Instead, I play all games off of a modded internal HDD.

    Xbox 360

I also don't have a 360, but was given several games by a relative

    TurboGrafx-16 / PC Engine / CoreGrafx

I have a Japanese CoreGrafx system, but no games for it, just a Turbo Everdrive

    Apple II

My late great-grandfather had purchased an Apple IIc in the late 1980s. After his death, it sat in his basement for around 20 years until I was given permission by some relatives to take it (shockingly, no one else in the family wanted it). I sadly was unable to find any discs of his, but I did pick up a commercial title just to confirm it all worked.

    Other Hardware

In addition to the devices mentioned above, I have a few other gaming-related devices.

    Accessory Table

Somewhat separated from my dedicated hardware list, I wanted to keep a list of some of the accessories I have for each device.
